Covid-19 update

This update was sent out to all members and friends of tbc on Wednesday 18th March 2020:

Following the government advice on social distancing and further recommends from the Baptist Union, the leadership at Totterdown Baptist Church have suspended all physical gatherings at tbc.

This includes Sunday morning and evening services, Growth Groups, Girls’ Brigade, Totterdown Tots and youth club. This is not a decision we have come to easily; however, we take the welfare of our church family very seriously and adhering to these recommendations seems the only appropriate thing to do.

Although our physical gatherings are not currently taking place AT the church, this does not stop us from BEING the church and we remain committed to encouraging, blessing and supporting our tbc family and our wider community in these difficult times.   In the next couple of days, we will be sharing how we plan to move forward as a ‘socially distant church’, including how we can use technology to facilitate worship, as well as how we can resource continued Bible study and prayer together.

If tbc is your church home, you should receive an e-mail or phone call to keep you in the loop, to see how you are and ask if there is anything else we can do to help you, by way of practical support (for example, grocery shopping etc.)   These are uncertain times, but through everything, we proclaim that Jesus is Lord – in our church, in our community, in our city, in our nation and around the world. May this be a time that the light of Christ shines through us as we support and care for one another, not just in our tbc family, but in the wider community as well.

We will continue to share key developments, but for regular updates, please visit the NHS and Baptist Union websites:
