The church at tbc is blessed with a wonderful Grade 2 listed Victorian building that has often been described as a rabbit warren!
It’s a privilege to be able to make this building available to the community by hiring out rooms for groups, classes, and one-off events.
Please note that, due to various church activities, our halls are not available to hire on a Sunday.
Please use our hall bookings form to make enquiries about hiring any of our halls or rooms.
The Jarman Hall
Our largest hall, measuring about 12 metres square, has a disabled access ramp, with disabled access toilet. The room has a small stage, good lighting and the sealed wooden floor is kept in fine condition. There is also a dumb waiter that can be used to bring food up from the kitchen. The maximum capacity is around 150 people, or about 100 seated at tables. Every school day, the room is used by Sydenham Road Underfives for their Preschool Playgroup.
The Salt Cellar
The Saltcellar is situated directly underneath the main church building. The acoustics are excellent, making it ideal for music events. The Saltcellar was well known locally in the 1980s for Christian rock concerts and in the 2010s for the popular Saltcellar folk club.
The room is used regularly by Totterdown Tots Toddler Group, Girls’ Brigade, Youth Club and a dance group. The sealed wooden floor space is about 10 metres square, plus an alcove. Access is via steps from Sydenham Road or a ramp suitable for pushchairs from Cemetery Road. It has a small coffee bar area, a cloakroom and toilet, and close access to the kitchen. The maximum capacity is around 100 people.
The Parlour
The Parlour is one of our smaller rooms, and has been refurbished to create a homely “parlour” feel for small meetings. The floor is carpeted and we have comfortable, upholstered chairs, plus 2 sofas. The room can accommodate up to about 35 people seated.
A couple of smaller meeting rooms are also available for hire – contact us for more details using the form below.
